Participation in a conference on diversity, inclusion, equal opportunities and mentoring programs

EUMENT-NET and Department of Political Science University of Naples Federico II held an international conference dedicated to the topic of unconscious bias in transforming academia and the strategies how to tackle them.

Part of the conference will focus on mentoring as a succesful tool to support gender equality and diversity in academia.

A representative of the Human Resources Management Office participated in the conference Inequality vs. Inclusiveness in Changing Academic Governance: Policies, Resistances, Opportunities. The conference was organized by the University of Naples of Frederick II in cooperation with the European network of mentoring programs at universities and other research institutions EUMENT NET, of which MENDELU has been an associated member since this year.

The aim of the conference was to seek inspiration and to find experience in creating and setting up a mentoring program, and at the same time to gain contacts at european universities where mentoring programs of various formats have been operating for several years - from mentoring 1: 1 to Peer mentoring for young researchers, especially doctoral students and post-docs.

In the near future, we, would like to launch a pilot mentoring program at MENDELU focused on young researchers.
