How About the Rest of This Year's Leave of Absence

Since 2021, the leave of absence has been expressed in hours and the conditions for using it have also changed. Employees may, for the first time, carry their leave forward to the following year.

The amended Labor Code laid down a rule according to which employees should take leave of absence in the year in which they became entitled to it.

Leave may be carried forward if the employer cannot or could not grant leave due to impediments to perform work on the employee’s part, or due to urgent operational reasons. There is newly the possibility of carrying forward up to two weeks of leave from this to the following year.

Exhaustion of all leave is required, but if for the above reasons you will not be able to use the leave, you can ask your supervisor in writing to carry forward it. Your supervisor will consider your request individually.
