HR Award defence: result expected within three months

15. 4. 2025

Mendel University in Brno has successfully undergone the renewal process to retain the prestigious HR Excellence in Research Award. As part of the so-called site visit, two assessors from the European Commission visited the university to assess the current state of implementation of the HR strategy as well as its future direction.

The assessors commended the progress the university has made since receiving the award in 2018 and proposed several adjustments to the existing strategy – some of which will be mandatory for the award to be confirmed, while others are of a recommendatory nature. The proposed adjustments primarily concern greater involvement of academic and research staff in shaping the strategy, further internationalisation of the university environment, and enhanced technology transfer.

A written statement with specific requirements and recommendations will be delivered within a month. The university will then have two months to incorporate the necessary changes. Once these have been fulfilled, the award will be formally renewed for another three-year period.

Presentations from the HR Award Renewal are available here.
