Revised Selection Procedure Rules in force since March

27. 2. 2024

The revised Selection Procedure Rules for the recruitment and selection of employees of the University are effective from 1 March 2024.

The revision of the Selection Procedure Rules came out of suggestions from the practice, both from the announcers, proposers, and members of the selection committees, as well as from the Human Resources Management Office. The review aimed to clarify the rules and streamline the whole selection process while maintaining compliance with the European Charter for Researchers. Changes have been made, for example, in the alignment of the rules for the recruitment and selection of non-academic researchers and academic staff, the inclusion of 'Head of Department' and 'other senior posts, provided that these senior posts are subordinate to other senior posts' among the posts that must be filled through a selection procedure.

Furthermore, the rules for the composition of selection boards, for dealing with cases of absence of members, e.g. when a member of the board falls ill, and the competences of the chairman or chairwoman of the board were specified. The number of members of the selection committee has been reduced to a minimum of three instead of the original five. The possibility of selection procedures without the participation of a candidate has also been abolished. For all those involved in the selection of employees at MENDELU, there is a website, where you can take an e-learning course and also read the interview guide.
